The "Wieliczka" Salt Mine Health Resort is a unique place on a global scale, dealing with the treatment of upper and lower respiratory tract diseases. 135 meters underground, in the hollowed out salt halls, there is a specific microclimate with a high content of many minerals. The healing air has a positive effect on both: the mood and condition of the whole organism.
The history of the spa dates back to the 19th century. Doctor Feliks Boczkowski was the first to notice that miners working in the Wieliczka mine rarely fell ill with respiratory diseases. The observations of the phenomenon were deepened and put into practice by Professor Mieczysław Skulimowski. In 2011 the Wieliczka Salt Mine was granted the status of the first underground health spa in Poland.

Treatment and rehabilitation at the spa is enriched by procedures using natural brine from a deposit lying at a depth of 255 m.

Cracow - the royal city
When in Wieliczka, you can't miss a visit to Krakow!
Full of legends, priceless monuments of architecture and art, the historical capital of Poland, with its centre inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List for over 40 years, enchants at first sight. It is a magical city with a long history. The most precious monuments are concentrated in the Old Town, which, surrounded by the green ring of the Planty, is an interesting open-air museum.
The Old Town alone contains over 300 historical buildings and 60 palaces and churches. The dominant feature of the landscape is the defensive-residential complex Wawel situated on a hill - for a long time the centre of power and the seat of monarchs. Wawel Cathedral was the burial place of kings and important figures in Polish history and culture. The Old Town below has retained its 13th century urban layout with a huge market square, St Mary's Church and the Cloth Hall.
The former capital of Poland boasts magnificent architecture, world-class monuments, a lively cultural and nightlife, excellent restaurants and many attractions for everyone.
